Telecom Resources
These are sites or articles that deal with telecommunications issues.  Some are of
general interest, some are technical to some degree, some are just interesting or fun if
you're interested in telecom and its history.
Bell System Memorial -  This is a site that is simply a tribute to the old "phone
company" we once knew and the various forms it evolved into.  Obviously a personal
site and a work of love, this was a Yahoo "Pick of the Week" in 2004.  You'll find all
kinds of stuff here, including .WAV files of those familiar voices that tell us "the number
you have dialed is no longer in service".

How IP Telephony Works -  This is a HowStuffWorks page that explains the evolving
world of VoIP... Voice Over Internet Protocol.  Telecom is filled with acronyms and some
are only interesting or relevant to people with a professional involvement but VoIP will
have an huge effect on the structure of both commercial and personal communications.
A little knowledge will keep you ahead of the curve and better able to decide when
VoIp is a practical choice for you or your business.

FCC Complaint Page -  Tell it to The Man!

Do-Not-Call Registry -  If you haven't already, you can reclaim the dinner hour by
registering on this site.

Reverse Phone Directory -  Use your Caller ID and this site to find the name of whoever
keeps calling and hanging up without leaving a message.  You can also look up phone
numbers by address and do area code and zip code locations.  A useful tool to add to
your bookmarks.
